What is the Livermore Drum Circle About?

Improvisation

  • A life skill that encourages collaboration.

  • Offers an opportunity for anyone to participate.

  • Non-verbal expression of emotions and feelings.

Inclusion

  • The focus is on family. Children are encouraged to participate with their parents.

  • Welcomes all abilities and skill levels.

  • All monophonic instruments and drums welcome.

Facilitation

  • elevates the improvisational drumming through orchestration, arrangement, and encourages group interaction

  • is explored through guest co-facilitators that teach about our/their drumming traditions and background

In response to the pandemic shutdown, the Livermore Drum Circle did not miss a beat and continued to meet virtually (and globally!) on Zoom starting in April 2020 to April 2021
