Andrew and Monica will be facilitating this drum creation ceremony, in which participants will be building their own elk hide frame drum! Attendees will be guided step by step through the drum building and ceremonial process. The drum building ceremony itself deepens our understanding of who we are, intentions placed into each knot and personalized on the inside in a special way unique to you by you!
Meet your facilitators…
Andrew and Monica of Drumming Sounds have been facilitating drum builds for about 10 years. This started as a suicide prevention program for the Havasupai, the most remote Native American tribe in the continental United States in the bottom of the Grand Canyon and has grown exponentially in the years since. What started as a small ceremony has grown to hundreds, from spiritual community to festivals and retreats to corporate team building exercises. This ceremony has been facilitated all over the country. Andrew and Monica own a drum circle facilitation company in Phoenix, Arizona where they facilitate up to 5 drum circles a day. They are passionate about the healing power of the drum and are excited to share this technology with you.

In addition, author, Andrew Ecker will be sharing the principles of ceremonial introduction as outlined in his acclaimed book, ‘The Sacred 7, A Path to the Wholeness of Self-Identity’. This process is both ancient and timeless.
Event Overview
The event will start with Andrew leading a ceremonial opening including teachings and introductions. The drum building materials will then be handed out and Andrew will facilitate the group through each step of the drum building process. The build will happen in a shaded outdoor area with light refreshments. Afterwords participants will be able to take their own hand-built frame drum and mallet home.
